Warehouse solid epoxy floor with safety striping
· Commercial · Warehouses

Forklift-rated. Striped to OSHA.

Warehouse flooring is forklift infrastructure — point-load rated, slip-resistant wet, OSHA traffic-lane striped, and installed phased so the warehouse never goes dark. The right system pays back in ten years of zero re-coat.

— TL;DR

The five-second answer.

  • Cost $5–$11/sq ft installed.
  • Solid epoxy with safety striping — flagship warehouse system.
  • Polyaspartic — fast-turnaround re-coat, 24-hr return to service.
  • Polished concrete — light-industrial and pick-pack zones.
— The problem

Warehouse floors fail under forklifts and chemical spills.

A warehouse floor takes concentrated loads at forklift wheel paths, chemical exposure from leaking pallets, dropped-tool impact, and pallet drag wearing out striping. Painted floors and thin coatings fail in 12–24 months. Solid epoxy at 30–40 mil with aggregate broadcast and OSHA striping installed in-coating delivers 15–25 years before re-coat — and the striping doesn't wear off because it's part of the system, not a paint layer on top.

What we engineer around.

Substrate, environment, downtime — every spec gets evaluated before product is selected.

Forklift point load

Compressive strength rated for actual forklift PSI. 9,000+ PSI for rubber wheels; 12,000+ for steel-wheel pallet jacks.

OSHA traffic striping

Striping installed in-coating, not painted on after. Won't wear off under pallet drag and forklift traffic.

Chemical zoning

Battery charging, cleaning chemical storage and forklift maintenance bays spec'd separately from general warehouse.

Wet slip

Aggregate broadcast at loading dock zones and battery rooms. ANSI A326.3 DCOF 0.6+ wet.

Phased install

Active warehouse stays operational. Aisle-by-aisle phased install. Polyaspartic 24-hr re-coats for tight windows.

Substrate prep

Existing floor profile read on-site; ICRI CSP 4–6 typical prep with diamond grinding and HEPA collection.

— Typical timeline

Phased aisle-by-aisle. Typical 50,000 sf warehouse: 3–6 weeks phased nights/weekends. Polyaspartic re-coats 24 hr.

— Typical cost range

$5–$11/sq ft installed. Solid epoxy mid-range; polishing at the low end; polyaspartic premium.

Final spec quoted on-site after substrate evaluation.

— Frequently asked

Specifics matter.

Will the OSHA striping wear off?
+
No — striping is installed in-coating. Pigmented strip is broadcast and locked into the basecoat, then top-coated. It can't wear off because it's not a paint layer on top; it's part of the floor system itself. Forklift traffic, pallet drag, and aisle sweepers don't lift it. Lifespan matches the underlying floor (15–25 years). Painted-on striping wears in 6–18 months and gets repainted constantly — wrong spec for a warehouse.
Can you install while the warehouse is operational?
+
Yes — most of our warehouse work is phased install around operations. We zone aisle-by-aisle, work nights or weekends with HEPA dust collection, install one zone at a time with temporary barriers and pallet relocation coordinated with the warehouse manager. Polyaspartic re-coats return to service in 24 hours; full solid epoxy systems need 48–72 hours per zone before forklift traffic.
What's the right slip rating for a loading dock?
+
Loading docks and battery rooms get aggregate-broadcast finishes to ANSI A326.3 DCOF 0.6+ wet — the standard warehouse spec for wet zones. Aggregate size and density tuned to the actual use. Slip rating documented on the project file with the closeout package.
How long does a properly installed warehouse floor last?
+
Solid epoxy at 30–40 mil with aggregate broadcast: 15–25 years in a working warehouse with normal forklift traffic and chemical exposure. Re-coat (not full replacement) at the wear points typically required at year 8–12 in heavy-traffic aisles. Polished concrete: 50+ years on the slab itself with re-densifier every 5–7 years. Polyaspartic re-coats: 15–20 years.
